Nashik

Surrounded by many huge mountains, the city of Nashik turned out to be the perfect weekend gateway for me. Located on the banks of the sacred river Godavari, the air in the city of Nashik is said to be close to the Almighty. Conveys an authentic spiritual feeling. The city hosts one of the world's largest religious gatherings, known as the Mahakumbh, held every 12 years. A visit to the city will enchant you, as Anjaneri Hills (the birthplace of Lord Hanuman) and Trimbakeshwar Temple (one of his 12 Jyotirlingas) are located near the city. Did I miss something important about the city!! ! Home to half of India's vineyards and wineries, the city is also known as the 'Wine Capital of India'. A wine tour at the famous Seurat Vineyards is the perfect way to end a hard day of trekking.
